My Action Figure Workshop
I have over 70 action figures now, a miniscule number compared to a lot of collectors out there, but I've only been collecting for the past 4 years. Still, it is enough to keep me constantly trying to consolidate space and maximize it's utilization. Despite how disorganized it can get, I like to think my "little" area in my basement is interesting. There is always lots to see, my kids and their friends like to check out my guys when they come downstairs.

Here is the current setup. Sorry they're so fuzzy, better photo's coming soon.

Before Image      After Image
The image on the left is the Lower Table, I try to use this space for temoprary storage of figures and accessories while modifying or accessorizing them. Above that is a shelf I mainly use to display a lot of large weapons and various U.S. figures. This shelf is simply a length of 2 X 8 sitting on top of two Mk4 grenade launcher ammo cans. Above that is a pegboard I made of 1/2 inch plywood to display a few of the loose weapons I had lying around. I have so many weapons now that the box I was using to store them wouldn't close, so I built this. On the high shelf are most of my German figures, I have a few non-germans up their now but they'll find a different place soon.

The image on the right are a couple of shelves I mounted on the top of a small cabinet which I use to store uniforms and equipment as well as office and computer supplies. On these shelves I'm beginning to organize my progression of the American infantry soldier through time. So far the earliest figure I have is from WWI and I have several variations of most of them. Being a vet myself I tend to favor the U.S. Army M60 gunners and Radioman since I was both at one point or another. (click images to enlarge)
Vietnam Display      Gene Simmons
The image on the left is a Vietnam display I built when we first moved into our house, It was recently disassembled because I didn't want my figures left in the garage with all the sawdust and whatnot flying around.

The image on the right is my shrine to one of the best characters in rock n roll history, I grew up listening to Kiss albums and saw them at Madison Square Garden in 1978 when I was just 10. I was fanatical about them for many years and Gene Simmons was my favorite. Here he is with some of Todd McFarland's Tiffany figures. (click images to enlarge)
